Three Tactics for Thanking Your Donors Well This December.

Giving Tuesday is almost here! You know that December is the month when most charities raise the majority of their funds for the year.

But are you ready to thank your donors? And are you ready to do it in a way that will knock their socks off?

Please don't lose your donors because you weren't prepared to show them how important they are! Here are three simple ways to make your "thank you" great.

1 ) Send a thank you letter to donors within 48 hours of receiving the gift.

2 ) Ask long-time volunteers to help make short thank you phone calls to new donors.

3 ) Put a simple, heart-felt thank you video on the confirmation page donors see after their online donation is processed.

Please note, for online donors the video doesn't replace your letter. But it's great to thank an online donor immediately, in addition to the letter!

These tactics are not hard to implement. The cost is small, and the pay-off is big. Best of all, you still have time to put them in place this year!!!

Need a little help with how to make it happen? Email me, or watch this blog. Over the next three days I’ll be giving a little more detail to help you out with each of these three tactics.

What are you doing to thank your donors this holiday season?
