One of the best parts of running my own business is that I’ve been meeting great people and learning so much from them, both online and off.
From new and returning clients, to new faces at great industry events, to wonderful colleagues in professional associations, to LinkedIn group members and my tweeps, there’s no doubt that the people are the best part of being an independent communications consultant and writer.
This new blog is my attempt to share some of what I’ve learned from the great people I’ve met during my career. And of course it’s my opportunity to highlight some of the people and resources that I think you will enjoy as much as I have.
But there are so many topics to write about and great people to profile too!
I was thinking about sharing some tips and templates for developing communications plans. Or maybe some information about planning and writing inspiring annual reports. Another idea was a guide to getting started in social media.
Or perhaps some helpful “How-to” posts about conducting client interviews to capture great stories, writing great headlines for your stories, and laying out the page well so your story has maximum visual impact.
As I was going through my list of ideas, I thought maybe I should start by getting some input about what YOU would most like me to cover. Would you like to hear about any of the topics mentioned? Or do you have another pressing issue I might be able to help with?
Please share your thoughts and suggestions in the comments below, email me at karen@luttrellcommunications.com or take my quick 4-question poll on topics for upcoming blog posts.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
I’m sure they will make the blog a better resource for our colleagues throughout the voluntary sector!
